IN HONOR OF AED AWARENESS MONTH, TEAM AED IS HOLDING MASS CPR AND AED TRAINING SESSIONS

August is “AED Awareness Month,” according to State Senator Joe Robach and the Senate.  In 2004, Senator Robach and the New York State Senate adopted a resolution that designated August as a month where events and efforts could be held to ensure that communities understanding the importance. 

In conjunction with August having this unique distinction, Team AED will be offering  AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training to the public on Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 6 pm to 10 pm and Sunday, August 31, 2008 from 9 am to 1 pm.  These two sessions of training will be held at the Penfield Volunteer Emergency Ambulance, which is located at 1585 Jackson Road, in Penfield.  Each of these sessions will be offered at $25, which is 50 percent off the standard price for this type of training. 

Participation in these two training sessions will result in the participator being certified to use an AED and CPR for two years on adults, children, and infants.  Registration is required to participate.  Any person interested in this valuable lie saving certification should contact Team AED at 585-671-5596. 

“AEDs and CPR play critical role in helping to guarantee the continued survival of those who experience a life endangering incident where medical attention cannot arrive swiftly.  By learning the techniques of using an AED and CPR, ordinary citizens can save a life,” says Senator Robach.
